From an education standpoint, they are an exciting new way to have students feedback to you, in real time, how they feel about work etc. They also allow students to discuss and learn things from each other which often helps in making sure that students understand and gain a deeper perspective on issues that are being examined.
If you search widely enough for blogs, which are used by a huge number of teachers and students to enhance learning, blogs offer us an opportunity to share ideas 24/7 while promoting discussion and ongoing thought directed towards an issue being examined.
The video below is a brief example that I found which helps explain what blogs are and how you can use them in class. Good luck with creating your first blog, if you haven't already done so!
If you are viewing this video or others on my blog at school, within the Victorian State Government system, you may not be able to access the associated videos as the access to most video content is blocked. Unfortunately you'll have to access it from home or elsewhere (my apologies for that!).
